Stereolithography (SLA or SL) - ££

Stereolithography (SLA or SL) uses an ultravoilet laser to cure layers of liquid resin. It is great for plastic or flexible parts that require a high level of accuracy and surface quality.

Stereolithography

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) - £

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) works by building parts in layers, by laying down material through a heated nozzle. FDM is extremely versatile and known for its speed and competitive cost.

3D FDM

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) - £££

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a process whereby a laser fuses a bed of powder of the chosen material (Typically Nylon or Polyamide), in order to create the solid structure. SLS is best for creating durable final parts that do not require a high level of surface finish or feature details.

3D SLS

Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) - ££££

Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) is a process whereby a laser or multiple lasers fuse a bed of powder of the chosen material (Typically Steel, Stainless or Titanium), in order to create the solid structure. DMLS is best for building fully functioning metal parts.

Suitable Applications

  • High accuracy of parts
  • Fully functional metal prototype or end use parts
  • Low-volume production
  • Complex geometries that CNC machining cannot achieve
