All of our Manufacturing Partners have been individually vetted by us to ensure only the highest quality parts are delivered. Please see our default standards below.

Our Standards

Our number one priority is delivering high-quality parts and forms the foundation of our platform. Each manufacturing method will have different manufacturing standards, our standards below set out tolerances that we will work to by default, unless we have agreed to other tolerances in your formal quote through the platform.

As per point 5 of our Terms and Conditions - You are responsible for ensuring that the specifications you supply to us in written or electronic form are correct. Where we ask you to supply both CAD and .pdf files, please note that by default designs are made to the specification as set out in the CAD file only unless otherwise agreed. We will not quote or work from engineering drawings and will only quote or work from the dropdown selection boxes on the quote form through the platform unless otherwise stated on the quote. We are not responsible for any discrepancy between CAD and .pdf files, and in the event of any such discrepancy, designs will be made to the specification as set out in the CAD file to avoid production delays.

CNC / Machining

  • Sharp edges will be broken and deburred at all times. Critical edges that must be left sharp should be noted and specified on an accompanying drawing.
  • All machined metal parts have a tolerance of +/- 0.127mm or tighter unless otherwise agreed
  • All machined plastic parts have a tolerance of +/- 0.127mm or tighter unless otherwise agreed
  • If drawings have specified tolerances below the above, critical dimensions or ISO fitments, they must be selected from the tolerances dropdown on the quote form otherwise they will be ignored.

Sheet Metal

  • Surface roughness (blank): Ra 12.5
  • Linear dimensions: +/- 0.127mm or tighter
  • Forming and bending: +/- 0.5mm or tighter
  • Bend to hole or feature: +/- 0.25mm or tighter
  • Sharp edges will be broken and deburred at all times. Critical edges that must be left sharp should be noted and specified on an accompanying drawing.

Injection Moulding

  • Lead times stated are for first article/sample shipment only. Further production time will be confirmed after the first article is approved
  • First article shipments are typically 5 pieces
  • All injection moulded parts are manufactured to a tolerance of +/- 0.25mm from the supplied CAD file
  • Tolerance of repeatability of the same parts is typically less than 0.125mm
  • All quotes are based upon the assumption that customers design have adequate draft, radii and cores for manufacturability
  • Ejection, knit lines, parting lines and gating are at the discretion of Manufacturing Source unless explicitly discussed and agreed

3D Printing

  • Please enquire as tolerances vary based on the technology used
